Surgery

At Pinson Animal Hospital, our experienced veterinarian possesses extensive knowledge in surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, abscess repairs, dental, exploratory, foreign body removal, and more.

Our doctor will conduct an evaluation to determine if surgery is the best option for your pet’s condition. If surgery is deemed necessary, you can rest assured that we will take the utmost care of your pet and treat it as our own. Since every pet is unique, we complete an assessment prior to surgery so that we can screen for any abnormalities or conditions that may be problematic. We recommend that all patients be screened prior to anesthesia by means of laboratory tests to evaluate the liver, kidneys, blood protein and blood glucose.

To ensure your pet’s safety, we will use the information from our evaluations and take into consideration your pet’s species, breed, age, and health to create an anesthetic protocol best suited to your pet. Additionally, we monitor vital signs throughout all stages of surgery and recovery as well as both pre and post-operative pain management.

At Pinson Animal Hospital, we truly believe that the combination of our experience, advanced surgical care, patient monitoring of vital signs and pain levels throughout all stages of surgery and recovery offer your pet the best chance for surgical success.

Whether your pet is of the age to be spayed or neutered, or needs a different surgical procedure, our doctor and staff are here for you and your pet. Pinson Animal Hospital provides surgical care to pets in Pinson, Birmingham, Gardendale, Trussville, Center Point, Oneonta, and more.
